The theater was built in 1931 by the 20TH Century Club, a ladies science and art club which was founded in Wichita in 1899. In January 2004 Wichita Film and Music Festivals Inc. acquired and manages the theater. We named the theater the Louise C. Murdock Theatre in honor of Louise Murdock who founded and was the first President of the 20TH Century Club. Her estate also started the Wichita Art Museum. Live Theatre, Concerts and Films are presnted in the Theatre. We show films at the Murdock Theatre and at the Wichita Art Museum.
