1920-2005: Celebrating 85 years of excellence. The Wichita Center for the Arts has been a cultural institution in Wichita for the past 85 years. In the years since its founding, the Center has emerged as a primary destination for programs in art, education and theatre. The Center boasts four galleries featuring regional and national exhibits, and a permanent collection of fine and decorative arts. The Mary R. Koch School of Visual Arts offers classes and workshops for adults and children, and includes The Creative Child Center Preschool, one of only two artsbased preschools in Kansas. The Irene Vickers Baker Theatre offers professional, thought-provoking, live theatrical productions.
