In 2020, artist Bobby Forsythe founded Supporting the Arts, a collective created to assist artists and art enthusiasts impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. During a time when many faced financial hardship and a loss of creative motivation, Forsythe set out to build a platform that fostered connection, encouragement, and opportunity within the artistic community.
The collective’s primary mission is to support emerging and established artists, as well as hobbyists, through initiatives such as annual online exhibitions that offer cash prizes. Supporting the Arts also looks toward the future, with plans to open a gallery space that will host both local and international exhibitions, further broadening its reach. Brad Geller and Connor Barford are now co-curators, contributing to the collective’s evolving vision and programme.
